Good, but upgrade would be worth looking into.

...Hat arrived today. Worth what I paid for it. Some good points...and suggestions to make it a bargain at twice the price.
.
...Visual inspection shows proper construction...not like some Chinese manufacturers who hire crazed weasels to stitch bands on at strange angles. Metal mesh vents seem secure and not likely to pop out as too often happens with other brands.
.
...The pattern seems ok, and will match well enough with flecktarn T-Shirt...Reminds me a bit of camo T-shirts issued to Chinese recruits these days.
.
...The hat is *very* lightweight. Good enough for my current needs (sun protection, Idaho summers), though for heavy bush/military use...doubling the weight would make this product a world beater...and would be worth it at twice the price.
.
...Label says 100% cotton, and care instructions seem to reflect that. I normally take 7&3/8s...went with Large... 7&1/2. Large size fits fine...for now... Might order XL if this one shrinks in spite of proper care.
.
...Normally not impressed with the cords on most boonie hats...usually cut them off. But this one substantial (like a double-thick bootlace), tough, and proper slide stop...worthy of a hat twice the weight.

If the manufacturer would double the weight of the product, (maybe going 80/20 re cotton/nylon) while maintaining high standards... (taking no shortcuts)... the result would be fit for military or civilian hard use in the bush. I'd gladly pay $30, if done right.
